I'm Christine Parker, and I'm a freelance romance fiction editor and writer from Cleveland, Ohio.
As a voracious reader and aspiring novelist with a bachelors degree in Creative Writing, my unique skill set is particularly suited to editing fiction. I'm proficient in Chicago Manual of Style, the most widely used style guide in the fiction publishing industry, and am currently working to complete my Editing Certificate through the University of Chicago Graham School.
I've been published in the Cleveland State University Cauldron and the (now-closed) Broken Tongue Review. In the past, I've worn the hats of beta-reader, critique partner, and writing tutor for friends, family, and students. I currently volunteer as proofreader for Distributed Proofreaders (part of Project Gutenburg), and have been the newsletter editor and recording secretary for Northcoast Knitting Guild since 2015. And—most importantly—I've been reading romance since tenth grade when my high school roommate changed my life when she handed me a copy of Stormfire by Christine Monson (pub. 1984) that she got at a yard sale for a nickel.
When I'm not obsessing over synonyms and syntax and steamy sex scenes, I like to knit shawls, hunt for ugly antiques, and get tattoos.
I currently live in a mid-century ranch with my husband, editorial assistant (Bindi, a bad-tempered French bulldog), and an exchange student daughter from Thailand.
